Sir, Bharat Ratna the Country's highest civilian honour which has been given to three distinguished personalities of the country P V Narasimha Rao, Charan singh and Swaminathan who had made monumental contributions for the nation in different sectors.

P V Narasimha Rao the 9th prime minister of India, was a statesman and distinguished scholar of our times who was known as the modern-day Chanakya for steering the economy through tough times with economic and political reforms

He held the reins of the county during a politically tumultuous time in the wake of assassination of former prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, when nation was facing extremely grave economic crisis and was on the brink of bankruptcy, indeed there were several challenges galore for him, the shattered Economy and several internal security problems, but with his visionary leadership he steered country through successfully and with led to the opening of an new era of indian economy.

Well-deserved Bharat Ratna for L K Advani.

Sir, Government of India has done a commendable job by conferring country's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna to the veteran leader L K Advani in recognising his exceptional and distinguished service to the nation, he has had a long and impactful political career in India.

He is the founding father of BJP who had played a pivotal role along Atal Bihari Vajpayee and few others of erstwhile members of Jan Sangh in forming the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in 1980, and further contributed to its phenomenal growth that led BJP from two seats in 1984 Lok Sabha election to the ruling at the center since 2014, It was L K Advani's visionary leadership that brought BJP to the degree of moderation from its extremism position and this historical step was well received by nation as a whole.

L K Advani will always say that the Temple and Mosque(after its relocation) could be rebuilt jointly by Hindus and Muslims as he believed in nation first policy, always believed for reconciliation and national integration.

Most notable achievement of L K Advani political life is, he challenged the dynastic politics in the nation which ended Congress's monopoly in Indian politics.

In 1941 he started as a grassroot worker of RSS, when he was only 14 years of age in Sindh Pakistan, post partition of India, he worked as a Pracharak in Rajasthan and toiled his way to the top in Bharatiya Jana Sangh(BJP), L K Advani is the longest- serving BJP President, Longest serving home Minister of India and also the longest-serving Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, he was the Home Minister I&B Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India and distinguished himself in all positions he held, his parliamentary intervention have been exemplary, he has been the fiery parliamentarian India has known him to be wherever he will speak all will listen with pin drop silence.

L K Advani's decades-long service in public life has been marked by an unwavering commitment to transparency and integrity, setting an exemplary standard in political ethics, for this he is admired for the across the party spectrum and in particular the public in the country, Advani despite occupying high political office including that of deputy prime minister of India, not a whiff of scandal has tarred Advani’s sterling character.

L K Advani has had always maintained a cardial relations across political spectrum even with those who didn't belonged to BJP's ideology, he believed there will always be some political differences among political leaders, also there will be political adversaries but no personal enemies, his relations with Sonia Gandhi, Pranab Mukherjee and many other congress leaders were extremely cardial, in this era, these very words of Veteran leader L K Advani sound true as these words belong to the Bygone era.

It is notable that Advani gained prominence for his leadership role during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in 1990s that changed India's politics that brought the BJP from the margins to principal political party in the country, this yatra also gained massive public response and catapulted Advani to centre of national politics, The Ram Janmbhoomi movement changed the entire course of Indian Mainstream politics and made the ideology of Hindutva the mainstream politics.

On September 25, 1990 he had taken our Rath Yatra from famous Somnath temple in Gujarat to Ayodhya to build Ram temple there, as he always advocated for the construction of a temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, which has finally culminated in the temple coming up there now in 2024, further this Ram janmabhoomi movement catapulted the BJP from the margins to pineapple political party in Indian politics.

This is a well-deserved honour for an extraordinary leader, the most respected statesman of our times, hence honouring Advani with the Bharat Ratna has further elevated his Public standing, who in his decades of sterling public life, has always believed policy of nation first, and has lived for the unity and integrity of India, L K Advni is a visionary leader who never ever cared for power but his mission in life was to create modern India drawing its strength from past glory

L K Advani conviction that matched a steely resolve like Sardar Patel who was called Iron man, hence he was rightly called Loh Purush(Iron man of India) for his policy of nation first.

Advani has dedicated his entire life for the service of the country, hence Bharat Ratna to L K Advani is a befitting recognition of his contribution, He is a true Bharat Ratna.

Amitabh Bachchan deserves top honours!
Gulf News,7th Oct,2019,L.E

It is heartening to learn that Bollywood’s most iconic actor, Amitabh Bachchan has been unanimously selected with this year’s Dadasaheb Phalke award (“Amitabh Bachchan humbled by Dadasaheb Phalke honour”, Gulf News, September 25). He is being recognised for his outstanding contribution to films. In my opinion, for Bachchan, this award comes late in his career.

The Dadasaheb Phalke award is India’s highest and most prestigious cinema award for artists, which is given in the name of Dadasaheb Phalke, for his lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. It was instituted in 1969.

Bachchan rose to stardom in Hindi cinema with his ‘angry young man’ persona. His stellar roles captured the audience’s heart in his hit films like Zanzeer, Deewar and Sholay. Despite being a huge star, he appears on television as the host of the popular television show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, India’s version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

He is still the same charismatic performer that he was five decades ago and is equally popular in Pakistan and the UAE.

In a career spanning five decades, Bachchan has given memorable performances and has been awarded the National Film Award, Padma Shri (1984),Padma Bhushan (2001) and Padma Vibhushan (2015). Bachchan’s Dadasaheb Phalke award is much deserved.
